Day 8: All Tangled Up

This concept you could do with fairy lights, but tinsel would work equally well!

You could really play with the story here, especially if you have a dog who will hold something in their mouth. You’ve seen enough of my ideas now to be able to start coming up with your own! Get creative with how you can take a simple concept: dog tangled in something, and turn it into a narrative. How did he get there? How will he get out? Is someone helping, or making things worse?

In this case, I love the two photos of Journey where he looks almost uncomfortable, because these expressions tell a story.

The photo where he’s looking at the camera is cute, of course!

But him looking a bit worried, tells me the story of a pup who was maybe being a bit naughty when he was playing in the lights and now he’s in  a bit of a mess.

The photo with the side eye? Well… he was clearly up to no good! Or, he’s ABOUT to do something naughty.

What story are you going to tell??

Expressions Challenge!

I looooove telling stories about my dogs through their expressions, where and how they’re looking, whether unexpected or planned.

While a photo of a Very Good Dog looking at the camera is lovely, sometimes unexpected expressions can give us a whole new glimpse into the dog’s personality, whether a bit guilty, a bit sensitive, a bit naughty, or a bit sheepish…. serious, goofy, joyful, enjoying the moment, or daydreaming.

My Learning Journey students love sharing the photos to our community that they’ve taken for the challenges scattered throughout their membership, so I thought I would give you guys a challenge too.

Take a photo (whether for this Christmas theme or not) that has an unexpected or unplanned expression, but which perfectly shows a side of your dog’s personality.

Share it on Instagram or to the Inspawration Facebook group and let us know how it shows your pet perfectly!
