Inspawration Photography

One thing I noticed about living in Germany was that as soon as the end of October rolled around, Christmas wreaths started decorating doorways.

Whether you have a wreath, are looking for an excuse to buy one, or just want to try this cute idea, that’s the only prop you’ll need for this photo…

… though, as always, fairy lights won’t hurt.

In our case, we did a couple of different variations:

• Wreath over the head and resting on the shoulders – works best for broader-shouldered dogs
  • Can either be done with a narrow depth of field so the wreath is quite blurry, or a wider depth of field so more of it is in detail, if you’re using a DSLR – just keep in mind light may be an issue
• Looking through the wreath at different distances
