Starting Point is the entry level of The Learning Journey, designed for pet photographers who already take photos, and know they could be better.

If you’ve taken thousands of photos but still feel unsure why some work and others don’t, this is where everything starts to make sense.

Starting Point focuses on the core skills that actually improve your photos: understanding light, composition, camera settings, and editing basics. These are the skills most photographers are missing, even if they don’t realise it yet.

This is not about rules, formulas, or shooting “the right way”.
It’s about learning how to see, make intentional choices, and build a solid foundation you can grow from.

Who Starting Point is for

Starting Point is for you if:

• You already take photos of dogs or pets, but feel stuck or plateaued

• You think editing might be your main issue, but aren’t totally sure

• You want your photos to feel more intentional, natural, and emotional

• You’re looking for clear guidance without overwhelm

• You want to be part of a supportive photography community

• You’re not ready (or don’t need) full access to everything… yet!

You do not need to consider yourself a beginner, (though this membership is absolutely perfect for absolute beginners.)
You just need the willingness to build the skills that make everything else easier.

Starting Point is optional, not a requirement. It gives you access to the first Learning Stage of the LJ (There are 4 Stages altogether)

Many members begin here, build confidence and clarity, and then choose to continue deeper into the Learning Journey when they’re ready.
