Everything in Frame

The First Step to Better Pet Photos

Your gear isn’t the problem. You don’t need more editing.
You just need to know how to put the photo together… while you’re out there taking it.

This is the magic of composition, taught in a hands-on course perfect for beginners or seasoned photographers who’ve been winging it for too long, wondering “why doesn’t my photo FEEL right?”

What You'll Master

This is the piece your pet photos have been missing.

You’ve got a camera or phone. You’ve watched tutorials. But your photos still feel a little meh.
This hands-on course shows you how to actually put your photo together: where to place your subject, how to frame the shot, and what makes a photo work from the start.

Because composition isn’t a fancy extra. It’s the skeleton, the structure, the whole foundation of your photo.. and it can make or break your image before you even press the shutter.

Take control of composition here: Just you, your camera, and the building blocks that make every photo better, one small, practical step at a time.

Change of Perspective

Discover the single easiest way to make your pet photos feel more immersive, connected and professional, just by changing your shooting angle.

Room to Breathe

Making your photos feel pleasant to look at, rather than wanting to scroll on by, begins with composition. No more awkward crops, instead considering how much space we give our dog, finding balance, and letting our eye rest.

Portrait or Landscape?

Do we take our photos upright, or lengthwise? What suits our 4-legged subjects the best, and when should we “break the rules”?

Composition Rules

No need to memorise anything. We’ll break down the most useful composition ideas (like rule of thirds and leading lines) in a way that actually makes sense – and we’ll look at when they’re important… and when not.

Bonus: Lenses

No, we’re not gonna be forcing you to buy a lens, but rather to understand how YOUR gear can affect how your photo looks, and why this matters.

Bonus: Panoramas

Since I’m human, I often make mistakes… THIS is how I fix them, on location, so I can rely LESS on editing. Perfect for poor composition, tight spaces, unexpected dog behaviour, and even handler removal!

Is THIS what composition is all about?! (Spoiler alert: nope.)

Professor Snoot Answers: What IS Composition Anyway??

Most people think composition means following a bunch of rules. Rule of thirds. Leading lines. Fill the frame. Don’t (or do?!) put the subject in the middle.

But here’s the truth:
You can follow all those “rules” and still end up with a photo that doesn’t work.

Because composition is about knowing how to put your photo together in a way that feels balanced and nice to look at. That brings your eye to your subject and helps them “pop”.

It’s where you place your subject. How much space they have. What angle you’re shooting from. Whether their paws are even in the frame.
It’s the difference between a photo you scroll past… and one that makes you stop.

When composition is right, everything else: the light, the editing, the storytelling, starts to fall into place.
And when it’s off? No filter or preset can fix that.

Learn from someone who truly gets it

I’m Emily – fully qualified teacher, professional pet photographer, and someone who’s taken a lot of “almost” photos.
You know the ones. They’re cute. They’re pretty… But something’s just… off.

Back when I started, I didn’t know what composition was, let alone why it mattered. I just wanted to take a ton of nice photos of my dog and our adventures (relatable, right) and didn’t think of if they actually… made sense?

And my best photos? The most powerful or magical ones? The composition was always accidentally good. Whoops.

Since then, I’ve taught thousands of pet photographers (and dog owners with cameras) how to make photos that work. Not by chasing perfection, but by learning how to really see the image before you take it.

And that’s what this course will help you do too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this for beginners or professionals?

This Masterclass is best suited for intermediate photographers, aspiring pros, or professionals who want to develop their style. Those who know their way around a camera, but want to go deeper into light, storytelling, posing, and editing. If you’re a total beginner, you’re welcome too! Just know we don’t spend much time on the basics and I refer to the Camera Settings Masterclass as a companion, in order to dive deeply into using your camera.

Is this included in the Learning Journey?

Yes – but ONLY in the Lifetime Journey. The monthly and yearly subscriptions do NOT have access.

Therefore, here and Lifetime are the only places where I teach my entire process in one go. Perfect if you want a stand-alone course without all the extra bells and whistles. (and, if you want all the extra bells and whistles, 20+ tutorials, BTS videos and more… then the Lifetime Journey is for you)

Can I get feedback or ask questions?

The Masterclass itself is self-paced and doesn’t include feedback.

There is a section below each lesson for basic questions, but you can’t get feedback on your photos or in-depth guidance.

If you want personal guidance, feedback and critique, and community connection, the Learning Journey is a better option for you! Especially Lifetime, where the Masterclass is included!

What if I don’t have Photoshop or Lightroom?

You’ll still get a ton of value from the sections on light, composition, location, posing, and storytelling AND because I always explain my editing process, not just “slide this slider here”, “use this special PS-only effect”… you should easily be able to transfer the techniques to the editing program of your choice.

Do I get lifetime access?

Yes. Once you join, the class is yours. Watch (and rewatch) whenever it works for you.
