Creating Wonder: In-Person Pet Photography Workshop in the Netherlands
$528.00 (USD)
incl. 19% VAT
Description
Where: Between Eindhoven and Weert, the Netherlands
When: Saturday May 9th (from about midday till sunset) & Sunday May 10th (from early morning to early afternoon)
What:
This two-day, in-person workshop is designed for pet photographers who want to slow down, understand why images work, and build strong skills without overwhelm.
The focus is not on rushing through locations or collecting as many photos as possible, OR even on getting the “perfect shot” by lining up one after another and having carbon copies of the one angle… but on learning how to see light, choose locations, work with dogs calmly, and make intentional creative decisions, both in camera and in editing. How to explore your own creative voice, experiment with different angles and use of location, and discover what works and what doesn’t through hands-on experience.
With a very small group (maximum 6 participants), there’s space for individual guidance, questions, and thoughtful learning throughout the weekend.
What we’ll cover
Day 1 — Foundations & Shooting
We begin with an in-depth theory session covering the core elements of pet photography, including:
-
Light and how to use it
-
Choosing and working with locations
-
Posing and expression
-
Lens choices and perspective
This session is designed to remove overwhelm before heading out to shoot, so you know what you’re looking for and why.
In the afternoon and evening, we head out on location for a guided shoot with multiple dog models, including Emily’s own dogs. You’ll photograph during(hopefully) golden hour with guidance on positioning, timing, and creative choices as we work.
Day 2 — Shooting & Editing
We meet early for another shooting session at a new location, building on what you learned the day before. Hopefully we get some morning golden hour light!
After returning to the venue, we move into:
-
Image selection and sorting while we have brunch
-
A step-by-step editing session
-
A calm, slow walkthrough of Emily’s full editing process
-
time to edit one of your own images with guidance and support, ask questions, and refine your approach without pressure.
